Return: homepage How we behave: the
Christian life lived personally, in the family and the world. Before
we consider Christian behaviour it is vital to confirm something. We are not saved by our good works. We cannot merit
God’s forgiveness. We are saved only by faith alone in Christ alone.
Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5 What follows are articles or
messages outlining issues facing Christian believers in their conduct.
However, while it is the duty of every pastor to teach the truth from
Scripture and not allow changing culturally acceptable morals to determine
what is appropriate and inappropriate Christian behaviour, it is also the
duty of churches and individual Christians to ensure that their conduct is
agreeable to what is revealed in the Bible as pleasing to the Lord Jesus
Christ. |

True Discipleship
by William MacDonald. Following Christ can be costly. Yet in every way the
believer seeks to live for the Lord Jesus and to give Him the best. Frank
Brearley of New Tribes Mission expresses the motivation for true discipleship
and living in the light of eternity from 2 Timothy chapter 4 verses 1-8 in
this message delivered 22/2/2009 with the title ‘Living
in the light of that day.’ |

Marriage, Divorce and Remarriage an article
by Victor Budgen former pastor of Milnrow Evangelical Church. The issue of
relationships is addressed by Pastor Harding and is downloadable from the
website, but Pastor Victor Budgen had to face the problems raised by marital
problems, even among believers. This article represents a Biblical
explanation of what the Lord requires of married couples when stresses and
strains enter their relationship. (Also you can listen to a series “From first friendships to happy homes.” see
Worth hearing.) |

Abortion
No issue is so deadly in our present culture. More babies were aborted on the
day the Twin Towers fell than died in the terrible disaster. But each day
since, the same numbers of babies have been killed in the USA alone. In the
UK there was outcry against the hunting of foxes, but not against the hurting
of foetuses. This terrible evil continues with some feminists wanting
infanticide. It is bizarre that to cut the baby to shreds before birth is
considered acceptable, but to smack a child after birth is an imprisonable
crime! Is killing 200,000 unborn children each year a good thing within our
society? It is perhaps only the almost complete silence on the actual process
of abortion from the media that enables this culture to ignore the silent cry
of these children as they die. |

Homosexuality. As views on sexuality change
in our culture, and even in our criminal law, believers are under pressure to
censor their own Biblically based convictions about homosexuality. The laws
of Great Britain are now biased towards prosecuting those who continue to be
convinced that homosexuality is not only unhelpful and unnatural, but unholy
before the Lord. What is a consistent Christian position based on what the
Lord has revealed to us about love and sex? Stuart Olyott’s ministry. |

A
world objective. Frank Brearley of New Tribes Mission teaches from
Acts chapters 10-11 summarizing a Christian view of taking this gospel to all
people groups. This gives expression to the church’s view of our
responsibility to pray, give, send and go into all the world with the gospel.
