Ministry by Victor Budgen

Victor Budgen left the church a lasting legacy when he wrote “The Charismatics and the Word of God”. This not only exposed the inconsistencies and false prophecies of the founding fathers of the Charismatic movement, more importantly, it showed the Biblical foundation for the position of historic Christianity; that is, that the revelatory gifts were gifts for the founding of the church. The deaths of the apostles, the announcement by Paul that he was the last of the apostles, and the sufficiency and completeness of Scripture were the basis for this view. The indisputable fact that the gifts ceased as scripture indicated was evidence enough until this modern error surfaced.

Its fruits have been worse than even Mr Budgen feared.

These rare recorded messages expound his position. He was a great Christian and a great pastor. His loyalty to the Scriptures cannot be doubted, and his gifts as a theologian press themselves on those who will hear these messages or read his book.
